JOHN'S, N.L. — The provincial government announced Thursday, Jan. 26, it has awarded a contract for a pre-feasibility study on the construction of a road connecting the Trans-Labrador Highway to communities in northern Labrador.
Lela Evans, NDP MHA for Torngat Mountains, said she is pleased the government has awarded the contract. Evans said while cost-of-living increases have affected everyone in the province, their impact is dramatic in northern Labrador. Evans also points to the provincial government‘s removal of the freight boat in 2018 as having a deleterious effect on access to goods and services.
