Verster has tendered his resignation as CEO of the provincial transit agency, preparing to hand over the reins to Michael Lindsay, who will serve as interim CEO. The announcement follows a recent update on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project, now expected to open in 2025.
Verster resigned from his position as CEO of the provincial transit agency to take up a new role and will leave his post as early as Dec. 16. The province has named Michael Lindsay as his interim replacement. Premier Doug Ford praised Lindsay's readiness to handle the new role, highlighting his priority to open the Eglinton Crosstown LRT as soon as it is safe to do so. Verster ’s tenure as CEO of Metrolinx began in 2017 following his time as managing director of ScotRail Alliance in the UK.
