The Island of Vancouver Island has begun to recover from the impacts of multiple days of strong winds and storms. While the remnants of the storms are visible, calm weather has returned.
After several days of strong winds impacting coastlines, causing ferry cancellations, and power outages across the Island, no weather alerts were active for the Island as of Friday morning. Ferry services resumed operations. On Friday, December 27th, the aftermath of the storms was evident with logs accumulating on shorelines and fallen trees. Chris Huzzey from Victoria captured the debris along Dallas Road in Victoria early Friday morning.
Despite the recent storms and anticipated rain, British Columbia experienced a calm Friday morning. Environment Canada reported no weather alerts, warnings, or statements for the Island or the province. A seven-day weather outlook for various regions on Vancouver Island is provided, including forecasts for Victoria, Nanaimo, Port Renfrew, and the Comox Valley.
