The latest storm to hit Vancouver Island Saturday morning knocked out power to tens of thousands of customers and disrupted travel plans.

Cancelled sailings at BC Ferries Saturday morning delayed travel plans for those travelling on major and many minor routes including Departure Bay. With winds gusting up to 100 kilometres an hour, the storm led to more than 40 power outages on Vancouver Island and the Gulf islands.
