Crews across Vancouver Island continue to work to resolve issues raised by the storm overnight, including clearing highways to reopen them.

Tuesday evening, the B.C. government issued a travel advisory after a number of highways on Vancouver Island closed including sections of Highway 4, Highway 14 west of Sooke, Highway 18 at Hillcrest, Highway 28 from Gold River to Campbell River and the Pacific Marine Circle Route.

After the advisory was issued, a number of other highways experienced closures, including Highway 19 from Sayward to Port McNeill and Highway 30 from Gold River to Campbell River.Highway 14 between Port Renfrew to nine kilometres east of Jordan River remains closed due to a tree on the road and downed hydro lines. DriveBC says the next update for this closure is 6 p.m.Highway 28 remains closed between Campbell River and Gold River due to a tree on the road and there is no detour available.
