The pilot project will run from Sept. 1 – Dec. 31

The pilot project will increase the days it is open from three days per week to five. The operating hours will now be Mondays from noon to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine has received numerous requests to extend the hours. A survey conducted by the solid waste staff of the RDKS showed 85 per cent of residents were unhappy with the previous public hours, and 96 per cent supported extending the hours.
