The Terrace RCMP handled numerous incidents between January 1st and 9th, 2025, including vandalism, impaired driving, and traffic violations. Highlights include the arrest of a suspect for throwing rocks at a cafe, the apprehension of an impaired driver without a license, and the impounding of a vehicle due to expired insurance and an inactive license.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 202 calls between Jan. 1 and Jan. 9, 2025. Below are a few highlights.At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, police received a report that a male threw rocks at Fix Café and Cyclery on Tetrault Street. The windows were found broken. Five days later on Jan. 8, the suspect was identified through CCTV, located and arrested. Terrace RCMP will forward the results of the investigation to BC Prosecution Services for consideration of mischief charges.

A female driver was the lone occupant and was able to exit the vehicle, but displayed signs of impairment. The woman refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested for failure to provide one. She was later released with a court date to deal with the charges.Terrace RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver who was seen driving away from the area of McNeil Street at around 2:00 a.m. The vehicle was located and found to be driven by a man who was prohibited from driving.

Police detected an odour of liquor on him, which led them to began an impaired investigation and determined he was impaired by alcohol. Terrace RCMP intend to forward charges to BC Prosecution Services.While on routine patrol on Jan. 8, an officer noticed a vehicle travelling on Keith Ave with expired insurance. When the officer conducted a traffic stop, they found the driver was operating the vehicle with an inactive license.
