Thunder Bay organizers address parking challenges for the upcoming Scotties Tournament of Hearts with a dedicated shuttle service.
Parking is expected to be in high demand during the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay . With large crowds anticipated for most draws, and especially heavy attendance on the opening and closing weekends, organizers have implemented a solution to ensure attendees can comfortably travel to and from the Gardens without parking concerns.
Thanks to funding provided by the Community Economic Development Commission, a dedicated shuttle service will be available for both local residents and visitors from out of town. Rick Lang, co-chair of the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, emphasized the importance of this initiative in alleviating congestion around the south-side rink, known for its limited parking spaces that are quickly filled. \Lang, a two-time world men's curling champion and coach of the Team Northern Ontario entry skipped by Krista McCarville, stated, “It’s no secret the Gardens has very difficult parking, especially with the crowds we’re expecting on opening and closing weekend, for sure.” He expressed gratitude for the CEDC and Tourism Thunder Bay's sponsorship, enabling the operation of three buses throughout the day, catering to every draw. The shuttle service will provide convenient hotel shuttles, with buses running before and after each draw from all major hotels in the city.
