Team Einarson has announced their roster for the upcoming Scotties Tournament of Hearts, leaving Briane Harris off the team despite her recent appeal victory over a doping violation suspension.

With less than a month until the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Team Einarson has announced their lineup for the upcoming competition, and Briane Harris will not be part of it. After serving an 11-month suspension due to a doping violation , Harris's appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport was finally resolved earlier this month, clearing her to return to competition. Despite being six months pregnant, Harris had expressed her desire to rejoin the team and compete at the Scotties.

However, Team Einarson has chosen to move forward with a new lineup. Skip Kerri Einarson revealed the difficult decision in an interview with CBC Sports, stating that the team had to make a choice for consistency and that the prolonged delay in the appeal ruling made the situation incredibly challenging. Einarson emphasized that the team had no control over the timeline and had to set their own deadlines to navigate the uncertainty. She expressed empathy for Harris, acknowledging her disappointment and stating that while the team is not closing any doors, this decision is for the current season. The new lineup features Krysten Karwacki at lead, Karlee Burgess as second replacing injured Shannon Birchard, Val Sweeting at third, and Einarson as skip. The team has also secured a fifth player, who will be announced at a later date. Einarson confirmed that the decision regarding the alternate position was made before the appeal ruling, as the team needed to finalize their roster and prepare for the upcoming season. When asked about Harris's potential role as an alternate, Einarson explained that they had to make that decision prior to the appeal's outcome due to logistical and preparation constraints. She reiterated that the team's decision for this season does not preclude Harris from rejoining in the future and expressed hope for a positive resolution going forward
