Premier Furey to make tourism announcement in western Newfoundland
Premier Andrew Furey will be joined by the MP Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canadian Opportunities Agency to announce support for tourism projects in western Newfoundland and the Great Northern Peninsula on Monday.
The event will take place at the Lobster Cove Head Lighthouse, Gros Morne National Park, Main Street North, Rocky Harbour beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Rainy Weekend Ahead for Newfoundland and LabradorRain showers will continue overnight across much of the Island, with more rain expected in the Northern Peninsula and parts of southern Labrador. Friday will be a quiet day with scattered showers in eastern areas of the Island and on and off showers for the West Coast and GNP. Labrador will see showers in the southeast, while areas farther north and west will have some sun. Another area of low pressure will bring rain to the Island and southern Labrador on Saturday, with the possibility of thunderstorms in the east. Skies will slowly clear on Saturday, setting up a decent Sunday with highs in the teens and 20s.
