60-Year-Old Man Dead After Industrial Accident at NL Hydro in Holyrood
Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has confirmed that a man has died after an industrial accident at their station in Holyrood shortly after 11:00 a.m. this morning.They say that nothing is more important to them than employee safety, and they are focused on supporting their teams right now.
“This is a sad day for our Hydro Family,” the company says in a statement, noting that this is a day that they never want to face and one that will be with them for the rest of their lives.Reports to VOCM News indicate that the victim, a man, was long-time employee of the Crown corporation and he died after coming into contact with electricity in the switchyard area. He was a resident of the immediate area and in his 60’s.
RCMP, alongside the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Occupational Health and Safety will be investigating.VOCM News has learned that a man has died after an industrial accident at Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro in Holyrood.
