Oak Bay police have joined the Integrated Canine Service, a joint police dog team that was launched by Victoria Police and Saanich Police in 2021.
Oak Bay police have joined the Integrated Canine Service , a joint police dog team that was launched by Victoria Police and Saanich Police in 2021.When it was first announced, police said the team would be based out of VicPD’s Esquimalt Division and would operate across all three municipalities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“We are thrilled to announce that the Oak Bay Police Department has joined the Integrated Canine Unit ,” said Oak Bay Police Chief Constable Julie Chanin in a statement Wednesday. “By joining forces, we aim to leverage these capabilities to further protect and serve our residents.” The suspect had left the store after robbing it at knifepoint, but when police located him, he refused to comply with directions.
