JOHN'S, N.L. — Newfoundland and Labrador's privacy commissioner's office is releasing a new video explaining a person’s privacy rights in the province.
The privacy commissioner's office in the province is joining with other Canadian privacy oversight offices, privacy advocates and the global privacy community in marking the Jan. 28 as a day dedicated to data privacy. The province said data privacy can be seen in many ways, but one standard is who gets to control a resident’s personal information.
As technology is ever-changing, controlling who can collect, use and disclose personal information has become more and more difficult.
