The Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders took advantage of scoring opportunities in Game 2 of a New Brunswick Senior Baseball League doubleheader against the host Saint John Alpines on June 1.
The Islanders are back in action on June 4 at Memorial Field in Charlottetown against the Moncton Mets, who took a 2-2 record into a game against the Chatham Ironmen on June 2. The first pitch for the Islanders-Mets’ contest is set for 8 p.m.Logan Gallant led the Islanders’ offence. Duncan Picketts also had a multiple-hit game while Jack Kraft hit a home run.
Jack MacKenzie earned the pitching win in relief, allowing one earned run and one hit over five innings of work. MacKenzie’s line also included five walks and four strikeouts. Starter Ben MacDougall worked two innings, giving up four hits, no walks and striking out nine.
