Calling Chard: asparagus and leek risotto with chicken | SaltWirePolice in Moncton have charged an 18-year-old woman with human trafficking after rescuing three suspected victims following operations in Moncton and Dieppe in April.

On April 12, Codiac Regional RCMP attended a Ward Street home following a call requesting a well-being check on a young woman. At the home, police determined the woman had been reported missing from Ontario and further investigation determined she had been brought to the area as a victim of human trafficking.Four days later, Mounties received another call directing them to a Dieppe home with officers locating an adult Quebec woman and a second woman also reported missing from Ontario.

Police believe both women are victims of human trafficking and arrested an 18-year-old woman at the scene. On April 17, Saphira Bastien appeared in Moncton provincial court on charges of making child pornography, advertising an offer to provide sexual services and two counts of exercising control over the movements of a person under the age of 18 for the purpose of facilitating their exploitation.
