AMHERST, N.S. — Two communities in Cumberland County are receiving around $150,000 in federal funding to support newcomer health-care workers and their families.
The town will also use the funding for free babysitting courses for newcomers’ families and residents, along with multicultural events and inclusion and diversity training for local not-for-profit groups.New collaborative family practice clinic opens in Amherst Through the program, health-care workers will be shown the community through site visits, dinners and introductions to other health-care staff and residents.
