A Toronto man is facing charges after allegedly trafficking a woman around the GTA, and police are concerned there may be more victims.
Police began investigating in November. They say a woman from Montreal had been recruited into the sex trade and brought to Toronto. She was trafficked for five days at a number of adult entertainment clubs in the GTA. Police allege she was deceived and coerced into going along with the scheme.Eventually, she escaped and contacted police.He has been charged with trafficking in persons by exercising control, trafficking in persons by recruiting, financial/material benefit/trafficking of a person over 18, procuring/exercising control and material benefit from sexual services.
