Despite Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s claims to the contrary, Ontario can phase out its dirty gas-fired power plants by 2035 and lower our electricity bills . Since 2009, the cost of wind and solar energy has fallen by 66% and 84%, respectively. As a result, they are now our lowest-cost sources of new electricity supply. And by cooperating with our neighbours in Quebec, we can use their massive hydro-electric reservoirs to act like a giant green battery for our wind and solar energy.
