Here are today\u0027s Ottawa Sun letters to the editor.
If all roads lead to Rome, then most of our financial drains lead to the carbon tax. Take the production and delivery of food items. It’s not that we don’t know how to prepare a meal — it just takes energy. And voila, carbon tax! Plus, to get to the ingredients in the first place, if transit isn’t nearby, it takes a vehicle. Again — carbon tax. To add, the stove needs a kitchen, and the kitchen needs a home. Winter is coming — do you want a warm home and warm water? Again, carbon tax hits you.
Please, Mr. Prime Minister, remove the carbon tax. We promise we don’t want to ruin this beautiful, big country, and we will be careful with our own money. Much more than you will ever be with ours.Mr. Prime Minister, please stop running around the globe trying to convince global leaders you deserve a seat at the UN table. Your father didn’t achieve it, and neither will you. Quit wasting time and fuel on the flights. There are far more important things in this country that you need to deal with.
Reading about all the things that the prime minister is promising, things that are supposed to make our lives more comfortable and affordable, brings to mind a story. A traveller is having a painful walk due to a pebble in his shoe. A stranger stops him and offers to remove the pebble. The traveller is so grateful, because his walk is so much easier now, that he forgets that it was the stranger who had put the pebble in his shoe in the first place.
