It's now official: The Miami Heat have re-signed Jimmy Butler to a contract extension.
“I’m excited about this upcoming season," Butler said in a statement."Good players find a way to play good basketball. We have a lot of those types of guys on this team.”
Butler averaged 21.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game on 49.7 per cent shooting in 52 games with the Heat this past season. The 31-year-old led the team to the NBA Finals in 2019-20 and, after a transformative off-season in Miami, will be looking to repeat the performance.The Heat sent waves through the Eastern Conference by acquiring, one of the most sought after free agents this summer, in a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors.
