“He started playing with me a few years ago just filling in, but when he joined my band, I found he was such an easy guy to play with as well as be with. He was a nice and caring person; he made everybody feel at ease with him.” “Everyone he has ever played with on a musical level has nothing but good things to say about him. He got along with everyone. He never, ever burned a bridge.”
“That’s just the type of person he was. Very personable, very friendly. You can’t buy that type of attitude. “He was an extraordinary musician, no question,” said singer-songwriter Alton MacKinnon, who toured with Keeping and had known him since their days attending Memorial High School in Sydney Mines. “But his presence and what he brought as a person, and what you felt just being in his presence, that’s what I’ll miss the most about him. It’s not the songs we played or the gigs we did; it’s having that solid rock at your side.

But you always get it.’ I tell him, ‘Is it this one?’ And he’d say, ‘that’s the song!’ We would just crack each other up.
