No one was injured in the blaze that broke out shortly before 3 a.m.

Surrey Battalion Chief Brian Carmichael said shortly before 3 a.m., firefighters received a call about an explosion at Jack’s Public House located at 152 street and Fraser Highway.

When they arrived, there was smoke coming out of the building and firefighters entered the pub to fight the blaze. However, Carmichael said flames broke through the roof so they had to retreat. He says firefighters worked for three hours to put the flames out.Fire investigators are expected to arrive at 8 a.m. At this time they do not yet know the cause.

Carmichael said there was no one in the building at time the fire erupted, and no firefighters were injured.
