The 44-storey One Central building will be located right in the centre of Surrey’s downtown core, hence its name.
If there’s one thing people in Metro Vancouver know about Surrey, it is that it’s growing fast. One Central, Aoyuan Property Group’s imposing 550-home residential tower, is set to be a big part of Surrey’s transformation and a landmark on the city’s rapidly evolving skyline. For Dan Kehler, who lives with his wife and two children in Langley and has bought a one-bedroom home at One Central, that location was a big draw.
“It took very little effort for us to find a very good tenant for our first apartment – a student at Simon Fraser University – so we’re hoping to replicate the process again at One Central,” Kehler added. “We have an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old and they’re both extremely good students that will be going to post-secondary education. So we’re looking at that area knowing that there’s a real possibility they may be going to school there in the future.
“The design of the homes is fitting for how people live today,” Smith added. “We know buyers want lounges, communal work spaces, outdoor spaces, social spaces. And the homes are flexible. Many have the ability to add or subtract rooms with the closing of a sliding wall or door.” The highlight of the amenity program Smith mentioned is One Club, a 7,640-square-foot rooftop amenity featuring indoor and outdoor lounge space, a kitchen, a fire pit, barbecue area and ping-pong and pool tables. One Central also includes a fitness room and a business and learning centre.
