Belleville police report

Belleville police responded to 220 calls for service over a 72-hour period from 5 a.m. on November 4, 2022 to 5 a.m. on November 7, 2022.On November 1, 2022, a post was made to social media regarding a female who was robbed at knife point on College Street West between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. The post received considerable attention as people were concerned about the seemingly random attack. An officer attempted to review the incident as the poster stated the police had been contacted.

The female was cautioned with public mischief and the investigation is complete.On November 5, 2022 at 2:10 a.m., police received a call to a Thurlow address regarding a domestic assault. A male reported that he struck his wife in the face. Police attended and arrested the 38-year-old Belleville man for assault causing bodily harm. The victim was transported to Belleville General Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The male was held for a bail hearing on November 5, 2022.
