The text messages were made public Thursday by the Public Order Emergency Commission during testimony by Alberta’s assistant deputy minister of public safety and emergency services Martin Degrand.
Blair responded he was disappointed the province was being so critical of the use of the act after the province had asked for federal help.Article content The Alberta government has repeatedly stated they did not consider the act useful or helpful to clear local blockades. Degrand said the RCMP initially had “limited” recruitment success in the early days of the protest, but that support dissolved “quickly”.
