Azerbaijan Airlines Passenger Jet Crashes Near Aktau, Kazakhstan, With 32 SurvivorsAn Embraer passenger jet flying from Baku, Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Chechnya, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan on Wednesday. The aircraft, carrying 62 passengers and five crew, deviated from its scheduled route and crashed on the opposite shore of the Caspian Sea. Kazakh authorities reported 32 survivors who were taken to a nearby hospital, while the bodies of the deceased are being recovered. Russia's aviation watchdog suggested a possible bird strike as the cause of the emergency landing.
