Police have also been dealing with quad bike riders
A community have told of their anger over 'noisy motorbikes' congregating in their peaceful estate. People living around the Abbey Road area in West Bridgford said the noise caused by the loud vehicles "literally hurts one’s ears".
A day does not pass by without noise from the motorbikes, said Mary Broddle. She added: “There is a noisy bike that goes through Lady Bay every day, it is uncomfortably loud. The noise literally hurts one’s ears.” Janet Newham said the problem occurs mainly at weekends. She added: “They come down Valley Gardens speeding on motorcycles - there are three of them. They cut through the garages at the side of Valley Gardens and they congregate in the garages.“The noise is bad mainly at the weekends, early evening or later. The police have been waiting for them but they disappeared quickly. They don’t always wear a helmet.
Inspector Rob Lawton, neighbourhood policing inspector for Rushcliffe, said: “We are aware of these concerns and have stepped up patrols to deter the riding of motorbikes in an anti-social manner. Officers from the Off Roads Bike Team have also been deployed to deal with illegal and antisocial use of quad and off-road bikes while also producing and publicising a guide for locations for people to lawfully use off-road bikes.
