Adsum House for Women and Children released a statement saying that it is shocked and angered by the minister’s “flippant remarks.”

Kristina Fifield and Liz LeClair, Members of Can't Buy My Silence, released a joint statement calling the minister’s comments extremely harmful and deeply damaging, sowing further distrust between victims and the government. "The government has continued to outright ignore the cries of advocates and activists in Nova Scotia around this issue," said the statement.
