Food delivery company Uber Eats has released its list of the top 10 most generous tipping cities in Canada, and Vancouver Island communities made up almost half the list.
Victoria was crowned the city with the most generous tippers, while Campbell River came in fourth, followed by Nanaimo in sixth and Courtenay in seventh.
The Island made a big leap this year, considering no Vancouver Island community was on Uber Eats’ top 10 list of best tippersThis year, the most popular types of food delivery across the country were Indian, followed by Chinese, American, Japanese and Italian, respectively.The pollster asked 1,230 Canadians about tipping, and just under half of respondents, 47 per cent, said they tip on third-party food delivery services, like UberEats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes.
Meanwhile, the majority of respondents said they tip for sit-down restaurant service, at 77 per cent, while 21 per cent said they tipped for fast food, and 19 per cent reported tipping for takeout.Earlier this year, Victoria also made a headline with Uber Eats.
