Riga Godron is accused of trying to run over two police officers on Canada Day

While arranging for the vehicle to be towed, a woman identifying herself as the driver approached the officers while filming them with her phone. She initially asked the police to stop traffic so she could leave, but after police said she was being “detained for an investigation,” the woman jumped in the vehicle and started the engine.
“The driver put the vehicle into gear and then rapidly reversed out of the parking stall towards officers, causing officers to leap out of the way to avoid being run over,” it read. What followed was a brief chase through downtown Victoria that ended with the camper being boxed in by Victoria Police patrol vehicles just before it sped towards Canada Day road blockades. “The driver was pulled from the truck and arrested,” read the statement.Article content
