One of the candidates vying for a spot on Victoria city council is wanted on a province-wide warrant following a Canada Day incident that saw her flee police.
VicPD say Riga Godron, 44, is wanted on a province-wide warrant with several sworn charges against her. Police ask anyone who sees Godron to call 911.
Riga Godron, 44, is alleged to have been driving a vehicle that VicPD officers had to “leap out of the way of” to avoid being run over.flagged down by a driverUnable to find the vehicle’s driver, officers called a tow truck after learning it had been parked there for two hours, according to VicPD. When officers told the person they were being detained for an investigation and were not free to leave, the driver got into the vehicle, started it, put it into gear and “rapidly reversed out of the parking stall towards officers,” VicPD said.
