A woman charged with 22 pages worth of felonies and misdemeanors was arrested in Columbus last week.
Ahyoka Keith, also known as Carol Ann Sumner, was charged by the Spring Township Police Department in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 2, 2024, with 322 felonies and 327 misdemeanors relating to the theft of thousands of dollars from a relative.A couple of weeks later, Columbus police detectives and patrol officers arrested her on Feb. 16 after a request for assistance from Spring Township Police.
Steve Palmer, a Criminal defense attorney with over 28 years of experience, said he's handled many cases but not with as many charges as this case. "Each individual act can be its own separate felony, and we see this all the time; we see it often in federal court indictments where there's white-collar theft or bank fraud," he said. "Each time there's a transaction that's fraudulent, that can be a separate felony."
She is also currently facing four similar charges in Centre County, Pennsylvania, Common Pleas from February 2023. In that case, a judge set bond at $100,000. She was granted a continuance last month and is scheduled for a pretrial conference in that case next month.
