Despite six-game skid, Redblacks GM Shawn Burke has a "great deal of happiness" with job being done by first-year coach Bob Dyce
“It was a random parent in the stands,” the 27-year-old Ottawa Redblacks running back remembered Tuesday at TD Place. “They were just watching my style of play, making people miss, and they kind of shouted out, ‘oh, look at The Matrix’, and my dad kind of just took it and ran with it.The play of Williams — who had 215 scrimmage yards, including 146 along the ground – was the positive in Friday’s crushing 27-24 setback on home turf at the hands of the Hamilton Ticats.
For one thing, the Redblacks are now four points behind the Ticats, who own the tiebreaker between the two teams, which means they have to win three more games than Hamilton from here on out. “You can keep preaching optimism but you’ve got to show results at the end of the day,” said GM Shawn Burke. “I understand that from our fan base. This business is about winning games. The first six games we went 3-3 and you could see some optimism, but the last six we haven’t given them much optimism. It’s our job to provide that. We’re professionals, and I think the last six games of the season we have to show that to the fan base.
