Toronto has a lot of fun on offer this weekend. Here’s a sampling of what’s on.
Cavalcade of Lightskicks off the holiday season at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, with opening night celebrations running from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. This year’s festivities, presented by Desjardins Financial Group, are inspired by lantern, fire and light festivals from around the globe and aim to transform city hall and surrounding areas into a “dazzling wonderland.”
Participants can enjoy skating and plenty of live entertainment. At 3 p.m., an Indigenous elder will make opening remarks followed by performances by a diverse selection of entertainers including musical and dance ensembles, jugglers and acrobats. Don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony at 8:30 p.m.
