Climate change also part of talk
A cottage and shed at Brule Point on the North Shore which were not only damaged by the Hurricane Fiona, but also moved.TATAMAGOUCHE, N.S. — The North Shore Chapter of the Council of Canadians is hosting a panel discussion titled Fiona’s Impact and Climate Change, Nov. 27, at Roach Hall in Tatamagouche.
Panelists for the 3 p.m. starting time event include Cumberland-Colchester MP Dr. Stephen Ellis, Colchester North MLA Tom Taggart, manager of North Nova Forestry Cooperative Greg Watson, Will Balser from Coastal Action Team Ecology Action Centre, and Yuill Herbert who is the climate change community planner for the Sustainability Solutions Group.
“Both the politicians and community resource people share their experiences and learnings from Fiona,” a release about the discussion states. “Equally important, community members will share their experiences and concerns regarding Fiona’s impacts. Panelists will also offer their perspectives on what is needed to mitigate and adapt to the ongoing impacts of climate change on the North Shore.”
