In the end, though, Weegar’s goal would stand as the game-winner. That’s another first for him with the Flames and came only a couple of days after Jonathan Huberdeau — acquired alongside Weegar in the off-season deal that sent Matthew Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers this summer — scored his first game-winning goal with the Calgary crew, too.
