The break happened between Seaview Boulevard and Belvedere Avenue, causing traffic to be detoured through nearby neighbourhoods. A dumptruck could be seen dropping off a large load of dirt as workers worked to fill a hole in the roadway around 9:50 a.m. A spokesperson for the City of Charlottetown said the work was expected to keep the road closed for the morning.
