Halifax Regional Police release Dartmouth suspect’s name and photo | SaltWire #news #novascotiaSYDNEY, N.S. — Fire halls, seawalls and community trails will get upgrades and improvements through more than $1.2 million in provincial grants announced this week.
“We were absolutely thrilled to have received this grant. It is beyond words how much this is going to help,” said Mike Kolanko, fire chief at the Big Pond Volunteer Fire Department in a press release. In Gabarus, the Cape Breton Regional Municipality will use the provincial funding for the repairs to the seawall in the community, which was damaged by post-tropical storm Fiona in September 2022.
Other recipients include the Marion Bridge Community Association, to renovate its kitchen, Our Lady of Fatima Parish, to install a generator, Spanish River Community Centre, to replace its septic system, and Mira Boat Club, to make its playground accessible and inclusive.
