Montreal successfully killed off five power play s, including a five-minute major to start the third period. Kristin O'Neill scored a game-winning shorthanded goal in the second period. Victoire goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens stopped 18 shots before a sellout crowd of 10,172 at Place Bell.
Montreal's penalty kill ranks second in the league (15 for 17) after Monday night's showing, while their power play continues to struggle, going 2 for 25 on the season.
