Former UPEI student and entrepreneur Nooshin Abedi was a member of one of three winning student-entrepreneur teams in the first-ever Panther Pitch UPEI event in 2021. ContributedCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The University of Prince Edward Island's experiential education department is offering the Panther Pitch competition, a program to inspire entrepreneurship among students, from March to May.

The competition is open to all current undergraduate students at UPEI and each team must include a member who is enrolled in or has completed BUS 3710, ENGN 3420 or SCIE 3010. Participating teams have the chance to earn public exposure for their ideas and win one of four awards including most innovative venture, positive impact, best market research and best financial plan, each worth $1,500.The Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program, which supports the development of entrepreneurial students who will lead new ventures in P.E.I., is behind the Panther Pitch.

Nooshin Abedi, an entrepreneur and former UPEI student, was a member of one of three winning student-entrepreneur teams in the first-ever Panther Pitch event in 2021.
