Durham police are searching for two suspects accused of distracting a senior citizen and stealing their wallet at a grocery store in Whitby, Ontario. The suspects fled the scene in a white Hyundai Santa Fe without a license plate and used the victim's stolen credit card to make purchases. Police have released photos of the suspects and are asking for public assistance in identifying them.
Durham police are searching for two people accused of distracting a senior and stealing their wallet at a grocery store in Whitby last week.“As he approached the victim, he dropped a case of soda and while the elderly victim was assisting him with picking up the soda, a female suspect went into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet,”The suspects fled in a white Hyundai Santa Fe without a licence plate, police said. The pair then allegedly used the victim’s card to make purchases.
The other suspect is a woman between 30 and 40 years old with a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a long black jacket and grey scarf.
