Two people sent to hospital with serious injuries following single-vehicle crash in St. John’s

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Two people have been sent to hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash in St. John’s Wednesday morning.

The car left the road, went into a ditch and slammed into a signpost embankment causing extensive damage to the vehicle and trapping the two occupants inside. The crash happened at about 6 a.m. and it took about 40 minutes to free both occupants. One St. John’s Regional firefighter was also treated for heat exhaustion by Eastern Health paramedics.
