In front of an electric crowd, Falmouth tug of war teams pulled their way to victory, defeating Pictou and Antigonish.reaffirmed what has been witnessed this year: a renewed interest in the sport.was held Sept. 24 in a packed arena at the Hants County Exhibition in Windsor. The championships came down to Falmouth versus Pictou for the women’s title and Falmouth versus Antigonish for the men’s title.

In 2016, there were two women’s teams competing. This year, there were six: two from Falmouth, another one from the Falmouth area, and one each from New Ross, Pictou County and Milford. “We just work hard and then it’s just getting everybody there a little bit early, stretched out, making sure the head space is all right on all the pullers and that we’re all focused on the same end goal,” said Greenough.
