Cole Zelenco, of St. Catharines, and Kyle Porter, of Calgary, were reportedly killed late last week.

Zelenco was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces who was released from service so that he could fight in Ukraine, according to a GoFundMe page seeking donations to help his family repatriate his body.

“Cole was an incredible young man.
