We visited the Turton and Entwistle Reservoir and were taken aback with just how beautiful it was
Lancashire has some fantastic scenery and often, I feel extremely lucky to have been born and raised in this red rose county.
I parked, admittedly in the wrong car park, but there was plenty of space for visitors and out-of-towners to park up and soak up the scenery. The path starts just in front of the car park, so even someone with poor orienteering skills are able to get en route. The reservoir was incredibly large and when you sit back and think, truly an incredible work of human ingenuity. The water was calming and although signs warned against humans swimming, dogs could be seen having a quick paddle to cool themselves down in the midday sun.
Now walking on the other side, this was the only part where the path got slighty more narrow, but yet still flat and manageable for most. As I walked on, I saw an interesting object up ahead and found myself and my first fork in the road as up until now, the road had been straight with no diversions.
