The highway was closed for several hours Monday night before reopening during early Tuesday morning hours
BEARDMORE — Highway 11 was closed for several hours Monday night after a tractor-trailer caught fire near Orient Bay.
OPP said they were alerted to the situation at about 9:40 pm, and sent officers from Nipigon and Greenstone to the scene. Photos posted on social media showed the trailer engulfed in flames, but a police spokesperson said the truck driver was able to remove the tractor from the trailer before the fire could spread to it. Police said the highway was closed until about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
