“I hadn’t seen any media or any story in regards to him. To see him there and actually playing was beyond bizarre.
“I presume he was doing it just to stay fit or maybe he is looking to get into coaching. From all the reports I have heard, the academy staff seem to love him. “There is another angle, another possibility. I just wonder if Tottenham look at an option to register him as a coach slash player and basically only play him in the Under 21s as an overage player.
“But he would count as homegrown and club trained which is very useful for Champions League and Premier League squads. “He joined as a 17-year-old from Leeds and came through our academy. It’s an interesting angle to look at.“Liverpool did it earlier this summer with Jay Spearing. Clubs do this. That could maybe happen.”
