.TitusAndronicus’s new album is out today
the 33-year-old frontman of the New Jersey-bred indie rock band Titus Andronicus, has a three-point explanation for the title of their new album,“It’s a phallus, so it’s very reflective of the patriarchy, as far as I can see,” he begins. “It narrows as it approaches its spire—that reminds me of the way that capitalism has a way of consolidating wealth and equity, and its attendant power and influence, to a smaller and smaller base over time.
As it turned out, Mould was “actually a nice, warm, normal guy.” But still, Stickles said, nobody in the band “wants to get on his shit list and disappoint him.”
