SuchThe main focus of Branch Out Dallas is to increase canopy cover, which is critical for people’s homes, said Karen Woodard, a Dallas Water Utilities city forester.
Each year, the Branch Out Dallas program gives away roughly 2,500 to 2,600 trees, Woodard said. All you have to do to participate is prove that you live in the city and sign up. Individual homeowners will benefit from more shade, but the broader city should eventually start to see more canopy as well.
