Emergency crews responded to the collision on Highway 19, involving a GMC SUV and Toyota Prius, shortly before 5 p.m., RCMP said.Police said investigations show the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions before colliding, sending them both into a ditch with the SUV flipping over.
The rear passenger of the Prius, a Timberlea man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and passenger, both women from Halifax, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The SUV's driver, a 41-year-old woman from Cheticamp, was taken to hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
